First Records Set at Zaharias Course

Two course records were established and the first eagle was recorded in the
special dedication yesterday of the Babe Zaharias Golf Club.
Ron Clayton, a salesman for E-Z-Go golf carts set the men's record with a par
71 over the 6,123-yard layout owned by the Tampa Sports authority.
Standout Carrollwood Village golfer Marge Shattuck set the women's mark with
an 81.
And Sam Maggiancomo made the first eagles on the north Tampa layout, sinking
an eight-iron approach on the 307-yard, par four third hole.
Other winners were: Bill Robinson, low net, and Tom McEwen, low gross (76) in
the press division; Cecile DeGuere, low net in ladies play (73) and UT's Sam
Bailey, low net (59) in men's play.
